Who Is Shaher Awartani?

Mr. Shaher Awartani, based in Abu Dhabi, serves as the Chairman and Co-Founder of Silver Coast Construction & Boring LLC.

Mr. Shaher Moh’d Ali Awartani is the Chairman and Co-founding Partner of Silver Coast Construction & Boring LLC, Abu Dhabi. Mr. Awartani has served in the capacity of Chairman & Co-Founding Partner since its establishment in 1997, leading a team of up to 4500 employees. SCCB has executed and completed projects in the UAE to the tune of USD 1.35 Billion. His work is also documented in various international academic library guides.

Mr. Awartani also co-founded High Point Real Estate LLC in Dubai in 2017 in partnership with H.E Yousif Al Otaiba, H.E Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, as well as Mr. Ahmed Ismail Bashee. High Point Real Estate LLC developed and owns two residential assets in Dubai valued at USD 100 Million.

In 2013, Mr. Awartani co-founded Equalis Capital Ltd, a proprietary investment company registered in the Dubai International Financial Centre, in partnership with H.E Yousif Al Otaiba.

In 2015, Mr. Awartani was invited by Global Gate Capital Partners based in Geneva to become a shareholder and member of the Board of Directors. Global Gate Capital Partners is an investment firm that manages multiple asset classes, including real estate and private equity, with over USD $2 Billion in assets under management.

In 2017, Mr. Awartani co-founded Café Milano Abu Dhabi, located in the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel in Abu Dhabi. It is the only branch outside of Washington, DC, USA. His partners in this venture include H.E Yousef Al Otaiba and Mubadala Investment Company.

In 2020, Mr. Awartani, alongside partners Yousef Al Otaiba and the Bashee family, became a substantial shareholder in Reem Hospital Abu Dhabi, partnering with InvestCorp of Bahrain (25% owned by Mubadala Investment Company) and Wisayah Capital (a 100% owned subsidiary of Aramco).

In 2024, Mr. Awartani co-founded Yasa Capital (DIFC) Limited, an investment and advisory company regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority as a Category 4 entity.

Mr. Awartani is also co-founder of Abaad Wood Industries, founded in 2010.

Philanthropy is a near and dear cause to Mr. Awartani’s heart, with a private scholarship program that started in 2015, as well as generous donations to healthcare institutions such as the Children’s National Medical Center | Sheikh Zayed Campus for Advanced Pediatric Medicine in Washington, DC.

Mr. Awartani completed high school at Queen’s College Taunton, Somerset, UK, and later obtained a bachelor’s degree in Management from the University of Toledo in 1986.
